Queensbury – Late to Develop
Based in the London Borough of Harrow, within the HA3, HA7, and the HA8 postcodes is Queensbury- a district in Northwest London. It is actually on the boundary on the London Borough of Brent. Surprisingly, Queensbury didn’t actually exist as an area at all until 1932. It was around this time that the tube station was opened on the Stanmore Branch. The name of Queensbury actually came about to match the close by Kingsbury. It was actually a newspaper competition that gave the area the name. At the same time as the opening of the tube station, there were a number of houses and shops that were built too. This is where a lot of the area was developed. Queensbury Circle Parade features a roundabout and a number of different shops. Queensbury Tube Station provides most of the transport in the area. This is on the Jubilee Line. It was opened on the 16th of December 1934. It started off as a part of the Metropolitan Line, which was then moved to the Bakerloo Line, and eventually, the Jubilee Line.
