Terms & Conditions
The following conditions here state the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties involved in this Agreement. In places where the words 'you' or 'your' appear, they refer to the Customer: ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ signifies Handy Gardeners; “teams’’ “providers” refers to the subcontractors who carry out the gardening services. The present terms and conditions can be changed and/or amended subject to prior written notice. Your attention is drawn to our cancellation policy in Clause 4 of these Terms and Conditions.
1.1 Please check that the details in these Terms and on the Order Confirmation are complete and accurate before you commit yourself to the contract. If you think that there is a mistake, please make sure that you ask us to confirm any changes in writing, as we only accept responsibility for statements and representations made in writing.
2. Bookings and Confirmation
2.1 At the time of the booking you have to provide us with an accurate description and size of your garden. If the job is to take longer than estimated you will be charged for the fixed amount of hours you were booked in for. Should the appointment require more time, additional work will be carried out upon your request and confirmation at an additional cost based per hour. Handy Gardeners reserves the right to amend the quote and charge for any extra work that needs to be carried out.
2.2 If you provide us with incomplete, incorrect or inaccurate information or instructions, we may cancel the Order, or we may make an additional charge of a reasonable sum to cover any extra work that is required.
2.3 Access to property: You shall ensure that access to your property is available either by providing a set of keys in advance of the date of service or by ensuring someone is at the property on the day of the service.
(a) In the case that our teams have to travel a distance further than 3 miles to pick up or drop off the keys of the property to be serviced, an additional charge will be added based on the distance to be travelled for key pick up/drop off.
2.4 Once a job has been confirmed, a slot will be reserved for the performance of the service. Please note, that the confirmation of the time of the job is only an estimate, as we do not have control over given circumstances, including but not limited to traffic, bad weather, or force majeure events.
2.5 Please note that it is your responsibility to make parking arrangements. You may need to contact your district council to request a parking permit, or suspension. Any parking fees or fines, accrued during the time of the service provided, are to be paid by the customer.
3. Pricing and Payment:
3.1 Our prices are based on pictures and information provided by you. We reserve the right to amend the Quote/Order Confirmation should we feel it is necessary.
3.2 Acceptable types of payment for the services provided are as follows: cash, cheque or BACs payment.
(a) Cash payments are payable to our operatives on site at the end of the service.
(b)All cheques are made out to subcontractors. Subcontractor’s details will be provided by our customer representative’s team.
(c) BACs payments are to be received 2 days prior to the day of the service. In the case that BACs payment is not confirmed 2 days prior to the job; we reserve the right to cancel the appointment. As BACs payments are made prior to job, should the need for price adjustment occur due to longer time spent on sit, an additional payment may be requested.
3.3 Additional charges may include: congestion charge of £11.50 or an additional charge (based on distance) if your property is outside of M25. Please note that our prices are subject to our terms and conditions.
3.4 Prices are based on a minimum charge of the corresponding service to be provided:
(a) All prices are based on information provided by the customer and are estimated in the most accurate way possible. If a job is to take longer than originally planned, the same hourly rates are to be applied. If the job takes less time to complete than originally estimated, you will be charged according to the time taken to complete the job.
(b) Minimum call out requirement for the general gardening service is a minimum fee of 2 hours (£85). £55 for two gardeners, for the first hour and £36 thereafter. (subject to our minimum two hour charge of £85).
(c) Minimum hourly rate for the landscaping service is £106 for two men for 2 hours. Every additional hour will be charged at £50.
(d) Minimum hourly rate for gutter cleaning service is £35
(e) Minimum hourly rate for window cleaning service is £50
(f) Jet wash is charged at a minimum call out charge of £50.00. For areas bigger than 20 sq.m, a charge of £2.50 per sq.m. will apply.
(g) Please, have in mind that up to 3 bags (total of 180 Ltr)/ or 1 large bag of 120 Ltr + 1 small bag 60 Ltr/or 2 bags of 90 Ltr garden waste accumulated during the service is included in the price.
Every additional 60Ltr bag is charged £3 extra and £4.50 if the team use 90Ltr bags. Extra rubbish, not accumulated during the service may be taken by our operatives upon additional charge. If our client does not want us to take away and dispose the rubbish, the price for bagging up the green waste in our bags is £1 extra charge per bag. Extra green waste bagged up in bags provided by the client but disposed by our gardeners is charged £2 per bag.
(h) All landscaping pricing is based on information gathered after vieweing or given pictures of the place. Price is specific for each project depending on it special requirements. A deposit is required 5 days prior of the job. The deposit will be determined on the day of the booking, depending on the project. The deposit is refundable if cancellation is made more than 3 days before the booked date. If cancellation is made less than 3 days before the start date of project, deposit is kept by Handy Gardeners. However, if all materials for the project have been bought, deposit will be held as compensation regardless of the day of cancellation.
4. Re-schedule and Cancellation of Appointments:
4.1 Handy Gardeners reserves the right to charge £15 in case you decide to reschedule/cancel the appointment on short notice (less than 24 hours prior to the job).
4.2 In the case that you, the customer decide to cancel the gardening service upon arrival of our teams, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of £20. This cancellation fee will only be applicable and charged for traveling expenses.
4.3 We reserve the right to cancel any lawn mowing or replanting, painting appointment in the event of unpredictable weather conditions, such as rain occur.
4.4 Cancellations can only be made over the phone or e-mail. Voicemails are not a valid option for re-schedulling and/or cancellations.
5.1 In order to provide professional and quality service, our teams must have adequate lighting and water tab available in the garden.
5.2 In instances where the health or wellbeing of our teams is threatened, due to hazardous environment, Handy Gardeners, reserves the right to cancel the appointment, and will not be liable for any charges/fees which the customer may accrue from third parties if the service isn’t carried out.
5.3 We require that you (or representative) are present at the end of the Service in order to inspect it and sign off the work as completed to your satisfaction. In the event that you are not present, the Service will be treated as accepted by you.
5.4 We will make every effort to arrive and complete the Services on time however there may be delays due to circumstances beyond our control. In this case we will complete the Services as soon as reasonably possible.
5.5 We reserve the right to sub-contract any or all of the Services

Please note: Handy Gardeners aim to deal with any issues with the service provided as soon as possible. Therefore any complaint filed later than 5 working days (from the date the service provided) will NOT be dealt with.
